The American Soniqs Esports team has claimed the PUBG Global Series 2 crown and USD 600,000 prize on Sunday at Gamers8: The Land of Heroes, the world's largest gaming and esports event held at Boulevard Riyadh City.
Saudi team Twisted Minds came in second and earned USD 260,000, while Question Mark, the Russian team, finished third and pocketed USD 162,000.
TGLTN, one of the Soniqs team members, received the most-valued player award and USD 20,000.
Soniqs team member Hwinn praised the excellent organization of the Gamers8 event, saying: "It is awesome to see the growth of esports, especially in this country. I do believe esports is the future – this generation loves it and there is so much potential to a game like PUBG. If they keep posting events like this, then we will keep showing up."
