King Abdullah II Condemns Israeli Aggression at Emergency Summit in Doha

Doha: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Monday delivered a strong call to action for Arab and Muslim countries at the Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit in Doha, urging them to reconsider all means of joint action in light of the threat posed by the extremist Israeli government. His remarks came in response to a recent attack by Israel on Qatar, which he described as a demonstration that “the Israeli threat does not stop at borders.”

According to Jordan News Agency, the summit was hosted by Qatar to address this recent aggression. In his speech, King Abdullah expressed his deepest condolences to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the people of Qatar for the victims of what he termed as Israel’s “brutal aggression.” He condemned the act as a blatant breach of international law and an escalation that further destabilizes the region.

King Abdullah reiterated Jordan’s commitment to standing with Qatar, using all available resources, and supporting any measures taken to confront the aggression and ensure the security and stability of Qatar. He emphasized that Qatar’s security is synonymous with Jordan’s and pledged absolute support.

The King highlighted that Israel’s actions in Doha are a continuation of its aggressive policies, which have been evident since its war on Gaza nearly two years ago. He criticized Israel for violating international law and pursuing illegal activities in the West Bank, actions that he argued undermine the prospects for peace and stability in the region.

King Abdullah called on the summit to produce concrete decisions to halt the ongoing war on Gaza, prevent further displacement of Palestinians, and safeguard Jerusalem and its holy sites. He urged for a unified and decisive response to the threats posed by the Israeli government.

The Jordanian delegation at the summit included several high-ranking officials, such as Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, along with other key representatives.
