Jordan registers 23 COVID-19 related deaths, 418 infections on Thursday

23 new deaths and 418 cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in Jordan on Thursday, according to a joint Prime Ministry and Ministry of Health daily brief.

With today’s fatalities and infections, the caseload and death toll from the disease have increased to 9,203 and 722,754 respectively, since the outbreak began in March of 2020, according to the daily brief.

Amman saw 151 new infections followed by Zarqa 58, Irbid 47, Mafraq 41, Jerash 30, Ajloun 30, Tafila 20, Karak 18, Madaba 11, Balqaa 7, Aqaba 3, and two cases in Maan.

The number of cases that required admission to hospitals today stood at 63, while 107 cases have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

With regard to testing, 10,417 tests were conducted today, 4.01 per cent of which were positive. The total number of tests conducted since March last year has increased to 6,903,678.
