Jordan-Qatar trade restores pre-Covid-19 momentum-ACCI

The volume of Jordan-Qatar trade exchanges during the past months 2021 witnessed a “remarkable” growth compared to the same period last year, according to data of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) obtained by “Petra” Thursday.

The joint trade balance rebounded to record “key” growth during the January-September period 2021, as the total trade during this period exceeded 800 million Qatari riyals ($219.7 million), to restore pre-Covid-19 levels, the QCCI figures revealed.

In 2019, the balance declined from 802 million Qatari riyals ($220 million), to stand nearly at 660 million riyals ($182 million) last year.

Jordan-Qatar trade balance is “likely to rise and grow during the coming period, given the solid and deep-rooted relations between the two countries in all fields, especially in the economic, trade and investment areas,” the QCCI forecast.

The QCCI said these projected forecasts are supported by policies adopted by Qatari market to “rely more on Jordanian goods and products, especially foodstuff and consumer ones, with high quality and affordable price.”

The Qatari market depends “largely” on many fresh food products imported from Jordan, the ACCI said.
