Amman: The Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by MP Dina Bashir, engaged in discussions on Sunday with Michel Douaihy, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the Lebanese Parliament, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation across various sectors, particularly parliamentary collaboration, to address regional issues.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting emphasized the importance of continued joint coordination and highlighted Jordan’s supportive role in Arab issues through parliamentary diplomacy, aiming to contribute to regional prosperity. The committee members underscored the significant role Jordan plays in the Middle East, especially in light of the ongoing developments in the region.
The discussions also revisited Jordan’s steadfast position, led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, on the Palestinian cause, and its opposition to any efforts to displace Palestinians at the expense of other countries in the region. Douaihy lauded Jordan’s regional engagement and His Majesty’s dedication to supporting Arab issues, particularly the Palestinian cause. He expressed a desire to enhance joint parliamentary efforts to strengthen the historic ties between Jordan and Lebanon.
