PM Inspects Public Security Directorate’s Modernization and Ramadan Preparations

Amman: Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan called on the Public Security Directorate (PSD) on Sunday for a first-hand look at its updated strategy to develop policing work and the civil protection system as well preparations ahead of the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Jordan News Agency, the prime minister met with PSD Director Major General Obaidallah Maaytah and highlighted the advancements the security body achieved over recent years in enhancing its services.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration between public security and government entities to enforce laws, serve citizens, and protect both public and private assets. Major General Maaytah assured that the PSD is committed to implementing royal directives and government instructions to enhance crime-fighting strategies and improve security and humanitarian services.

The PSD director praised the government’s support in equipping the security body and civil defense with the latest policing techniques and civil protection equipment, which have positively impacted citizen security and crime reduction. He noted ongoing coordination with relevant bodies and the Greater Amman Municipality to address traffic issues and enhance crime prevention.

The prime minister, accompanied by Interior Minister Mazen Faraya and Amman Mayor Yousef Shawarbeh, toured the Operations and Control Directorate to observe emergency response operations and the use of advanced technologies, including the traffic drone unit.
