Cairo: Jordan’s Ambassador to Egypt, Amjad Adaileh, reaffirmed Jordan’s unequivocal rejection of any plans to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land or within their homeland, stressing that Jordan, Egypt, and Arab nations stand united in opposing such measures.
According to Jordan News Agency, speaking at the opening session of the “Palestine and the Role of Civil Society” conference held under the auspices of the Arab League and Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population, Adaileh outlined Jordan’s humanitarian efforts under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II to support the Palestinian people in Gaza and the West Bank. These efforts include air and land relief bridges to break the siege on Gaza and alleviate the suffering of Palestinians.
He also highlighted Jordan’s medical and humanitarian support, particularly through field hospitals in Gaza and the West Bank. Additionally, he referenced the “Restoring Hope” initiative, a royally mandated program that provides prosthetic limbs to those injured in Gaza, noting that 333 amputees have benefited so far.
Adaileh praised the role of civil society organizations and humanitarian groups worldwide, emphasizing their crucial contribution in supporting Palestinians in Gaza, easing their suffering, and providing essential needs amid an unprecedented war.
Addressing a gathering of Arab and foreign diplomats, as well as civil society representatives in Cairo, Adaileh reaffirmed Jordan’s firm and principled stance in supporting Palestinian rights. He emphasized His Majesty’s clear position that Jordan rejects any proposals undermining Palestinian rights, particularly their right to their land.
He also stressed that achieving lasting security, stability, and peace in the region can only be realized through the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on the pre-June 4, 1967, borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, living in peace and security alongside Israel, in accordance with the two-state solution.
Adaileh commended Egypt’s efforts, backed by Arab nations, to rebuild Gaza without displacing its residents, reinforcing the regional commitment to preserving Palestinian sovereignty and territorial integrity.
