Jordan Courts Conduct Over 12,000 Remote Trials in September

Amman:Jordan's Ministry of Justice has reported that the country's courts conducted 12,300 remote trial sessions in September as part of its ongoing digital transformation efforts.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry released its official statistics highlighting these advancements, which also included the archiving of approximately 3.7 million judicial documents.

Notary public services were notably active, completing 28,400 transactions, with 10,600 of these handled remotely. There were also 8,988 remote notary video consultations and 1,639 electronic legal notices issued without requiring in-person visits.

The ministry issued over 55,000 clean-record certificates, with 52,000 in Arabic and 3,250 in English. Additionally, alternative penalties were adopted in 213 cases, and electronic monitoring bracelets were utilized in two pre-trial detention cases and 28 sentencing cases.

Demand for e-services was evident with 704 online auction transactions, 373 legal aid requests, and four formal requests under the Right to Information law recorded.
