Amman: Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani emphasized the strong and historic relations between Jordan and Egypt, highlighting their foundation on trust, mutual respect, and the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, which drives their bilateral cooperation efforts.
According to Jordan News Agency, Momani, in an interview with Al-Ahram Al-Arabi magazine, underscored that the relationship between Jordan and Egypt serves as a distinguished model of joint Arab action, inspired by the wise vision of both nations’ leaders. The 33rd session of the Jordanian-Egyptian Joint Higher Committee, held in Amman, exemplified the deep-rooted ties and resulted in ten agreements across various fields, enhancing economic and investment opportunities.
Momani pointed out that Jordanian-Egyptian collaboration remains pivotal to Arab and regional security, with both leaders advocating for Arab causes, particularly the Palestinian issue. He stressed the importance of their unified stance on the two-state solution and humanitarian efforts for the people of Gaza.
He also addressed the role of media, characterizing it as “the twin of awareness” and a tool for building fact-based understanding. The government’s strategy emphasizes media as a partner in shaping public opinion, supported by the National Media and Information Literacy Strategy initiated in 2019.
Momani elaborated on the government communication strategy, which is rooted in transparency and engagement, fostering trust between the state and society. He highlighted efforts to modernize communication tools and train spokespersons to uphold national interests.
Furthermore, he affirmed Jordan’s commitment to joint Arab media efforts, emphasizing the need for unified action against misinformation and to protect Arab identity. On artificial intelligence, Momani noted its potential benefits and challenges, advocating for responsible use and regulation.
Lastly, Momani depicted Jordan’s modernization vision as a long-term reform project focusing on political, economic, and administrative empowerment, particularly for the youth. The vision is steered by inclusive national dialogues and aims to translate sectoral priorities into actionable projects, marking significant progress in the Kingdom’s development.
