India has witnessed the highest daily COVIUD-19 fatalities, with 4,529 deaths recorded Wednesday, pushing the death toll to 283,248, according to the United News of India.
The news agency cited the Indian Health Ministry as saying more than 267,330 people tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload in the subcontinent to at least 25.5 million, 3.2 of which are active.
