HPC, UNFPA discuss ways to address reproductive health issues

The Higher Population Council (HPC), in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), on Thursday organized a scientific dialogue to discuss two fact papers related to reproductive health of Jordanian family and the elderly.

The event saw participation of Jordan’s concerned authorities, as part of activities to celebrate World Population Day (WPD), according to a HPC statement.

The first paper dealt with media role to raise awareness about reproductive health issues for Jordanian family and mechanisms aimed to activate advocacy on related issues, in a bid to providing a number of recommendations in this regard.

Meanwhile, the second paper focused on the elderly reproductive health in Jordan from a holistic health perspective aimed to shed light on the elderly needs, cure related diseases, provide better medical services, and address anti- elderly domestic violence as vulnerable group, the statement added.
