Health Ministry: 5 new virus deaths, 310 cases recorded in Kingdom

The Ministry of Health said Saturday it recorded 5 coronavirus deaths and 310 infections across the Kingdom, bringing the death toll to 9,582 and the caseload to 742,831.

According to the ministry’s daily brief, the number of currently active cases reached 7,692, with 58 admitted to hospitals today, while 39 were discharged and 495 are currently hospitalized.

The report also said that the occupancy rate of isolation beds in the northern region was 6 per cent, intensive care beds 15 per cent and ventilators 11 per cent.

In the Central region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was at 12 per cent, intensive care 28 per cent and ventilators 8 per cent, the report said.

In the southern region, the occupancy rate of isolation beds was 3 per cent, intensive care 8 per cent and ventilators 3 per cent, it showed.

According to the daily brief, 672 Covid patients have recovered, bringing the expected total recoveries after the 14-day isolation period to 72,557.

It also said that 16,346 PCR tests were collected, bringing the total since the beginning of the pandemic to 7,525,294, with a positivity rate today of about 1.9 per cent.

The report said that the number of people who got the first dose of Covid vaccines stood at 190,263, and the two doses 625,894, while the number of those registered on the platform for vaccination reached 2,849,081.
