Hashemite Leadership to Harness Youth Energies for National Growth: Momani

Amman: Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani stated on Wednesday that the reinstatement of the National Military Service Programme underscores His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II’s belief in the significance of the initiative for cultivating a generation of committed and responsible young individuals.

According to Jordan News Agency, Momani emphasized that the program receives direct attention from His Majesty King Abdullah II, highlighting the Hashemite leadership’s dedication to channeling the energy of young people into a driving force for national development. During “This Week’s Interview” on the Jordan Armed Forces the Arab Army Radio Station, Momani explained that the government spent a year translating this vision into practical steps, restoring the program’s status as a national tool for building Jordanian character and reinforcing values of discipline and social responsibility.

Momani reiterated that national service is a long-term initiative reflecting Jordan’s approach to investing in human development, with the aim of shaping young people capable of contributing effectively to society and the national economy. As a government spokesperson, he noted the program’s continuation under a clear institutional framework, free from temporary influences, to ensure sustainable results. He described investment in youth as a strategic pillar for the state’s future, not measurable in the short term.

The minister elaborated that the Jordan Armed Forces the Arab Army will fully supervise the program’s implementation, managing all logistical, administrative, and training aspects to ensure maximum discipline and professionalism. He asserted that choosing the military to oversee the program reaffirms its role as a leading national institution for instilling loyalty and discipline, and as a trusted source for building human capacity.

Momani added that the program integrates specialized military and field training with interactive cultural and awareness lectures to refine participants’ national consciousness and strengthen their ties to national institutions, particularly the Arab Army, considered a symbol of confidence and national dignity.

He highlighted that the relaunch of the National Military Service Programme sends a strategic message that Jordan’s leadership prioritizes youth, providing an environment that channels their energy into productive power to support the economy, strengthen societal security, and enhance stability.

The minister also mentioned that the government, in cooperation with the armed forces and relevant ministries, prepared a comprehensive media plan, including Education and Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, to clearly communicate the program’s goals to the public and consolidate a shared national understanding of its importance.

He stated that the program would undergo continuous evaluation under the leadership of the armed forces to measure its achievements, with its impact gradually reflected in strengthening youth commitment and national belonging.

Concluding the interview, Momani praised the role of Jordanian women in the armed forces and security services, calling their participation a source of pride and a reflection of the state’s belief in women as equal partners in nation-building and safeguarding national security.
