The overall number of Covid cases has surpassed 315 million, with a spike in cases of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus across the world.
According to Johns Hopkins University (JHU), the total case count mounted to 315,390,402 while the death toll from the virus reached 5,510,327 on Thursday morning.
“There have been more than 9.50 billion vaccine doses administered worldwide,” the JHU added.
