FM and Moroccan Counterpart Discuss Syria and Strengthen Bilateral Ties

AMMAN: Ayman Safadi, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, engaged in a telephone discussion with Nasser Bourita, the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs, focusing on the Syrian situation and bilateral relations between their nations.

According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi and Bourita explored various actions and initiatives aimed at supporting a comprehensive political transition process in Syria. This process is intended to be Syrian-led and aims to uphold the country’s unity, independence, sovereignty, and security, while also safeguarding the safety and rights of Syrian citizens. An essential part of this dialogue was setting Syria on a path to rebuilding its state institutions.

Both ministers expressed a firm stance on the need for an immediate cessation of Israel’s occupation of Syrian territory, underscoring their disapproval of the occupation. Beyond the Syrian issue, Safadi and Bourita discussed strategies to enhance the fraternal ties between Jordan and
Morocco, reflecting on the shared history and goals of the two kingdoms.
