Crown Prince Announces Reactivation of National Military Service Program

Irbid: His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II announced the reactivation of the National Military Service Program during a meeting with youth from Irbid Governorate on Sunday.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting was held at King Abdullah II Gardens in Irbid, where the Crown Prince emphasized the necessity for young Jordanians to be prepared to serve and defend their country. He highlighted that citizens who have participated in national military service recognize the significance of this experience.

His Royal Highness underscored the program’s role in fortifying national identity and enhancing young people’s connection to their homeland. He added that serving with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army helps build character and instills discipline. The Crown Prince also mentioned that he had previously directed the government to collaborate with its partners to develop the National Military Service Programme. This initiative will be implemented according to a clear timetable, with details to be disclosed in the future.

The meeting also covered various topics of interest to the youth, including information technology, entrepreneurial and volunteerism projects, and vocational and technical education and training.

Attendees expressed their support for His Royal Highness’ initiative to reinstate the National Military Service Programme. They emphasized its importance in fostering active citizenship values, refining young people’s characters, and enhancing their national identity. Additionally, attendees appreciated the Crown Prince’s support for vocational and technical training initiatives, recognizing their importance in empowering young people and preparing them for entering the workforce.
