Amman: The Southern Military Zone, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department, successfully thwarted a drug smuggling attempt into the Kingdom using a drone, an official source at the General Command of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army reported on Saturday.
According to Jordan News Agency, border guard troops from the Southern Military Zone, adhering to the rules of engagement, traced, intercepted, and shot down a drone within Jordanian territory. The operation led to the seizure of narcotics, which were subsequently handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation and action.
The General Command has expressed a strong commitment to maintaining the country’s security and stability, emphasizing that it will continue to act decisively to prevent any infiltration and smuggling attempts across the borders.
