Jerash: Royal Court Chief Yousef Issawi, head of the committee to follow up on the implementation of His Majesty the King’s initiatives, inaugurated a semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool, marking the first phase of the Jerash sports complex’s development.

According to Jordan News Agency, His Majesty King Abdullah II has directed the rehabilitation of the complex to form the core of an integrated sports city in the northern region. The newly inaugurated facilities, covering an area of 1,300 square meters, include an amphitheater, a service building, offices, and outdoor parking. Accompanied by Minister of Youth Yazan Shdaifat and Jerash Governor Firas Faour, Issawi was briefed on the project and future expansion plans which encompass five-a-side and volleyball courts, gardens, parking lots, and stadiums for various sporting events.

In Nahleh, Jerash Governorate, Issawi, with Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Azmi Mahafzah, inspected the Nahle Elementary School for Boys project. This initiative, ordered by His Majesty, aims to ease overcrowding and eliminate the need for rented schools. The three-story building will feature 12 classrooms for 400 students, laboratories, facilities for pupils with disabilities, and playgrounds.

In the Dibbin area, Issawi, along with local officials, assessed Dibbin Park’s readiness for the spring hiking season. Built on 176 dunums, the Dibbin Hada Park was inaugurated in 2017 under His Majesty’s directives. It supports local ecotourism and provides job opportunities for the community through productive enterprises and handicrafts.

Additionally, in the Souf Camp, Issawi reviewed a project to rehabilitate the valley stream adjacent to the camp, aimed at preventing winter flooding. In his remarks, Issawi described the royal initiatives as “a true lever” for local development, highlighting their role in creating job opportunities, improving services, and supporting government plans and programs.
