Manama, Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi stated that the 33rd Arab Summit, held in the Kingdom of Bahrain, is crucial given the current crises and developments in the region, particularly the dire situation in Gaza. The summit, chaired by King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, was attended by several Arab leaders, presidents, and representatives. Al-Budaiwi expressed gratitude to King Hamad bin Issa Al Khalifa for Bahrain's efforts in hosting and organizing the summit. He also expressed confidence that the summit would strengthen Arab relations, promote solidarity, and address security and stability challenges. The summit took place amid Israeli attacks and violations against the Palestinian people, especially in Gaza. Al-Budaiwi called for international intervention to halt these violations and the military escalation in Gaza. Furthermore, he reiterated the unwavering support of the GCC's member states for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the importance of establishing an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with east Jerusalem as its capital.
