Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry directed a ban on the import 16 types of crops, plant and animal products. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation - Head of the Ministry's Marketing Committee, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, explained that the import of 'ground garlic, dried onions, maize for human consumption, boneless chicken sausages, sheep liver, frozen beef, sheep dukkah, beef with bones, and cut beef meat' has been banned boneless, bird food, frozen and chilled potato slices (chips), roses, natural flowers and figs.' Dr. Al-Rubai confirmed that the decision to ban the import of these items comes to protect the local product, and came after several measures taken by the Ministry, by gradually stopping to cover the market's need for these crops, plant and animal products. Agriculture and Irrigation Deputy Minister called on the security services and relevant authorities to cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture to combat smuggling or importing the types of products included in the decisions, in a w ay that contributes to protecting the local product. He pointed out that the Ministry of Agriculture seeks to protect and encourage local agricultural products and crops, to cover market needs, thus contributing to supporting the growth of the national economy.
