QFSW Begins Digital Transformation Plan by Moving to Microsoft Cloud

Qatar Foundation for Social Work (QFSW), a Ministry of Social Development and Family affiliate, announced the activation of a cloud migration project, as part of its digital transformation plan, in cooperation with Microsoft.

QFSW organized a press conference on the occasion, presenting the shift of QFSW and its affiliated centers to a unified cloud infrastructure. In its first phase, the project will move from a private environment (local workplace) to a unified cloud infrastructure to benefit from the benefits of Cloud services, within the governmental framework agreement with Microsoft.

The press conference pointed out the project's objectives as well as highlighted the most important services, solutions, and products that Microsoft will provide. It also informed on cloud services, best practices in the areas of application modernization, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud security, digitizing operations and enabling code development, in addition to the internationally accredited training and certification programs offered by Microsoft.

The conference highlighted Microsoft's commitment to accelerating digital transformation in line with Qatars strategies, in addition to raising the competencies of the national technology sector.

Microsoft will unify QFSW's affiliate centers digital infrastructure, and protect their servers and data while fulfilling the requirement of storing customer data in Qatar.

In this context, QFSW Acting CEO Rashid bin Mohammed Al Hamda Al Nuaimi commended Microsoft services, describing them as fruitful, noting that QFSW seeks to consolidate its digital transformation to implement projects, disseminate data, and support sustainability, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Al Nuaimi explained that the anticipated project may include holding workshops and awareness sessions on Microsoft solutions in leading support services, in addition to benefiting from specialized programs to support QFSW and its affiliated centers in their future projects.

For her part, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar Lana Khalaf praised QFSW's efforts in activating the shift to Microsoft Cloud, to benefit from innovative solutions and secure and flexible Cloud systems to accelerate the digital transformation, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.

Khalaf stressed Microsoft's commitment to providing the best and latest technologies to support QFSW in improving performance, innovation, productivity, and work efficiency, providing high-quality services to the community in Qatar.

For his part, Director of the Information Technology Department at QFSW Ahmed Khalil Abdulla said that by shifting to cloud services, QFSW would improve its operations thanks to the easy access to information and data, which in turn would better cooperation and coordination amongst QFSW centers, as well as improved resource and operations management.

Abdulla added that QFSW and its various centers could expand the scope of their work and reach broader categories of beneficiaries by providing faster services via the Internet and mobile phone applications. He pointed out that it is without doubt that this cooperation will advance social work in Qatar, improving the life quality of individuals and families.
