Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein Al-Ezzi met on Tuesday with the Regional Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross for the Middle East and North Africa, Fabrizio Carboni.
During the meeting, they discussed areas of cooperation between Yemen and the International Committee of the Red Cross and ways to enhance and develop them.
In the meeting, the Deputy Foreign Minister referred to the latest developments in the humanitarian situation in Yemen resulting from the aggression and blockade imposed on Yemen for the ninth year in a row.
He praised the level of existing partnership with the International Committee and the role played by the International Committee of the Red Cross mission in the humanitarian aspect, including the prisoner exchange issue.
Al-Ezzi reaffirmed the readiness of the concerned authorities to provide all necessary facilities for the work of the ICRC delegation and its employees.
While the Regional Director of the International Committee of the Red Cross praised the facilities provided by the concerned authorities to the delegation in Sana'a, reaffirming the International Committee's commitment to continuing its activities aimed at alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Yemen.
The meeting was attended by the head of the International Committee of the Red Cross delegation in Sana'a, Daphnee Maret.
