Amman Vision Launches Recycling Initiative with Reverse Vending Machines

Amman:Amman Vision Treatment and Recycling Company has installed 15 reverse vending machines for plastic bottles and aluminum cans. This move is part of a larger plan to deploy 200 machines over the next two years.

According to Jordan News Agency, the initiative was launched in partnership with UAE-based Sparklo and aims to encourage residents to sort recyclable waste at source. Residents can earn reward points redeemable for shopping discounts and other incentives through the Sparklo mobile app.

The first 15 machines have been placed at shopping malls, universities, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) stations, and Marka Airport. Amman Vision CEO Amjad Anasweh stated that the initiative seeks to enhance waste management, reduce littering, and promote recycling and the circular economy, aligning with national environmental objectives.

Anasweh highlighted plans to expand the recycling network across Jordan through public-private partnerships. This expansion aims to divert recyclable materials from landfills and boost public participation in waste sorting. He stressed the importance of private-sector involvement in recycling projects and waste recovery, urging businesses to support environmental initiatives through strategic partnerships and corporate social responsibility programs.

These partnerships, Anasweh noted, would enable companies to contribute to environmental protection while associating their brands with sustainability initiatives that offer measurable benefits to communities.
