Jordan Exports Targets $2.5 Billion Market Across Five Nations

Baku:Jordan Exports has partnered with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply and economic reform programs to launch comprehensive market intelligence studies targeting five high-potential export destinations Kenya, Tanzania, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The studies aim to explore a total addressable market volume of approximately USD 2.5 billion across these countries, providing structured pathways for Jordanian manufacturers to expand their global presence beyond traditional regional trade corridors.

According to Jordan News Agency, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Supply, Dana Zoubi, highlighted that export promotion is a primary pillar under the Economic Modernization Vision, aiming to convert national productive capacity into high-value economic growth. Zoubi also disclosed that Jordan is finalizing a preferential trade agreement with Rwanda covering 122 tariff lines and plans to initiate formal consultations with Kenya early next year to establish a bilateral trade agreement framework.

For Central and East Asian markets, Zoubi noted that Uzbekistan is viewed as a strategic hub, with a preferential trade agreement covering 150 tariff lines scheduled for signing next month. Furthermore, Indonesia and Malaysia offer immediate growth opportunities for Jordan's halal-certified exports, including dates, olive oil, and cosmetics.

Dr. Maher Matalqa, Board Chairman of Jordan Exports, emphasized that the studies were based on field-based research, direct market visits, and stakeholder interviews, rather than relying solely on desktop statistical data. The analysis considered regulatory requirements, logistical costs, expected financial returns, and competitive price positioning. Matalqa also noted that the intelligence reports focused on key industrial sectors such as pharmaceuticals, furniture, processed food, engineering equipment, chemicals, and packaging, and called for public-private synergy to leverage these findings and expand the national exporter base in line with the National Export Strategy.
