Amman:A delegation from Algeria's National Agency for Pharmaceutical Products visited the Jordan Food and Drug Administration to examine the regulatory framework for drug registration and oversight.
According to Jordan News Agency, the visit focused on understanding Jordan's system for registering chemical and biological drugs, as well as its pharmacovigilance and inspection standards. JFDA Director-General Rana Obeidat highlighted the administration's extensive technical and regulatory expertise, which aligns with international standards and allows for knowledge exchange with regional regulatory agencies.
Obeidat emphasized that the JFDA's model has enhanced its reputation as a trusted regulatory body, aligning national drug quality and safety standards with global requirements. This alignment has led to international recognition, including membership in the Pharmaceutical Inspection Co-operation Scheme and nearing final-stage accreditation with the World Health Organization.
The delegation's two-day visit includes a training program led by JFDA experts, aiming to acquaint the Algerian specialists with Jordan's procedures for registering pharmaceuticals. During the program, Drug Directorate Director Rana Malkawi provided an overview of the regulatory workflow, technical protocols, and digital transformation projects. Additionally, Shatha Al-Quraan discussed registration procedures and expedited approval mechanisms for chemical drugs.
