470 Aqaba Youth Secure Jobs Through ASEZA Initiative

Aqaba:470 young people in Aqaba have successfully signed employment contracts with 23 private-sector companies and institutions in the port city.

According to Jordan News Agency, this marked the conclusion of the "From Opportunity to Work" initiative, organized by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA). The initiative, which lasted about three months, aimed to coordinate job seekers with companies, following a training period.

During a ceremony attended by Aqaba Governor Ayman Awaishah and representatives from both the public and private sectors, ASEZA Chairman Shadi Majali described the signed contracts as a "tangible" outcome of an "effective" partnership with the private sector. Majali emphasized the importance of aligning employment pathways with market needs to create direct and measurable job opportunities.

Majali explained that the initiative began by identifying corporate needs, then matching skills, and holding relevant training sessions. This process culminated in direct hiring, presenting a model that could be further developed.
