Amman: Senate President Faisal Fayez on Tuesday met with Mexican Ambassador Jacob Prado Gonz¡lez to discuss the enhancement of bilateral relations and collaboration across multiple sectors. The meeting also focused on regional developments, particularly the Iranian-U.S.-Israeli conflict and its implications for security and stability in the region.
According to Jordan News Agency, Fayez reiterated Jordan's condemnation of Iranian attacks on Jordan and Gulf Arab states. He emphasized that His Majesty King Abdullah II has been actively engaging in diplomatic efforts on both regional and international stages to call for an end to the conflict. The King has also been advocating for clear security assurances for Arab nations in any forthcoming agreements with Iran.
Fayez lauded the robust Jordanian-Mexican relations, urging for expanded cooperation in the areas of economy, investment, and parliamentary engagement. He further highlighted King Abdullah's initiatives aimed at fostering peace and stability, including calls for a political resolution to end Israeli aggression against Palestinians. Fayez stressed the importance of resolving the Palestinian issue based on a two-state solution and international resolutions, while urging Israel to adhere to the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and halt its aggressive policies.
In response, Ambassador Prado Gonz¡lez commended the strong and enduring ties between Jordan and Mexico, affirming Mexico's commitment to advancing bilateral relations to serve mutual interests and regional security. He acknowledged Jordan's pivotal role in the region and expressed appreciation for King Abdullah's continuous efforts to promote peace and stability.
