Amman: Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi stated on Monday that the 80th independence anniversary is a moment of national pride, a time to reflect on Jordan's journey that was written with sweat, patience, and the integrity of its men.
According to Jordan News Agency, Qadi emphasized the Kingdom's resilience in the face of challenges, attributing this to the strong bonds between the leadership and the people, as well as the sacrifices of the Jordan Armed Forces - the Arab Army, and security services. His remarks were made on the occasion of Independence Day and Army Day.
He highlighted that the Hashemite banner has remained a symbol of pride and dignity since the Great Arab Revolt, led by Sharif Hussein bin Ali. Qadi spoke at a meeting in Sahab to honor ex-servicemen, acknowledging Jordan's progress under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II. The nation has been building a modern state based on the rule of law, solid institutions, and modernization across political, economic, and administrative realms.
Qadi further praised military retirees, referring to them as a school of loyalty and discipline, and a living memory of glory. He commended the sacrifices made by the Jordan Armed Forces and security services in defending the nation and ensuring its security and stability.
