Amman: Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates, Badr Abdelatty, discussed cooperation and regional developments. In a telephone conversation, Safadi and Abdelatty addressed the deteriorating situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, condemning Israeli violations and escalating tensions in the occupied West Bank, Jerusalem, and Gaza.
According to Jordan News Agency, the ministers called for an end to Israeli measures that entrench the occupation, risk further escalation, and undermine prospects for peace and a two-state solution. They emphasized the need to implement all provisions of U.S. President Donald Trump's Gaza plan, ensuring sufficient humanitarian aid enters the Strip and creating conditions conducive to advancing to its subsequent phases.
The discussion also highlighted regional efforts to reduce tensions and restore calm, with calls for compliance with the U.S.-Iran ceasefire, the resumption of negotiations, and greater reliance on dialogue and diplomacy to prevent the conflict from expanding. Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's solidarity with Jordan in the face of Iranian attacks and rejected any infringement on the Kingdom's sovereignty, security, or stability.
Safadi welcomed Egypt's position and urged continued coordination on regional and international issues.
