Irbid: Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited the village of Saham Al Kafarat in the governorate of Irbid, where she participated in a hike with local young men and women in a scenic area overlooking the Yarmouk River. During this excursion, she engaged with local tourism activists who shared their experiences in promoting nature tourism in the Jordanian countryside. The activists emphasized the importance of local initiatives and community efforts in highlighting the natural attractions of Jordan's northern region and the eco-tourism activities available there.
According to Jordan News Agency, Queen Rania also met with members of the local community who briefed her on various initiatives. Among these is Khairat Saham, a platform dedicated to promoting the area's agricultural and traditional heritage. This initiative aims to empower local farmers and families by helping them package, market, and sell their products, including olive oil, pomegranates, guavas, and other artisanal food items.
Her Majesty's visit to Saham Al Kafarat is part of ongoing efforts to boost local tourism by increasing awareness of the country's unique travel destinations. Earlier this year, she visited Wadi Rum with the aim of showcasing the diversity of Jordan's tourism offerings.
