Jerusalem: Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday arrested dozens of Palestinians, including women, children, and former prisoners, during widespread raids across the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem. The Palestinian Prisoners Club reported that 17 "wanted" individuals, including three women, were detained by the army in the raids across various towns and villages. The operations led to injuries and cases of suffocation from tear gas as clashes erupted in several locations.
According to Jordan News Agency, in Jerusalem, Israeli occupation authorities issued demolition orders for 50 shops and businesses in the town of Al-Eizariya, located southeast of the city. The Palestinian Jerusalem Governorate stated that Israeli forces raided the town and notified owners of the impending demolition of the shops, which are situated at the town's entrance. The owners were given until Sunday to comply with the order.
The demolitions are part of the far-right Israeli government's "E1" settlement expansion plan in the area, as mentioned in the statement. Additionally, Israeli occupation forces demolished two homes in occupied Jerusalem and Ramallah, citing a lack of building permits. The Jerusalem Governorate referred to these actions as "restrictive measures," highlighting the complex terms imposed for obtaining building permits, which they described as virtually impossible to meet.
