Jordan Gears Up for Nationwide Celebrations of Flag Day Under “Our Flag is High” Campaign

Amman: The Ministry of Culture announced on Tuesday that nationwide celebrations for Jordanian Flag Day will take place this Thursday, organized under the national campaign theme "Our Flag is High".

According to Jordan News Agency, Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh emphasized that the Jordanian flag is a unifying national symbol that embodies the history, present, and future of the state. He noted that its colors represent the deep historical roots of the modern kingdom, linking it to the Great Arab Revolt and the Hashemite leadership.

Program Key Highlights

An official flag-raising ceremony is scheduled for 12:00 PM on Thursday, where the Jordanian flag will be hoisted simultaneously across all governorates. Organized by the Ministry of Interior, the ceremonies will feature the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army (JAF) musical bands, alongside official institutions, scouting groups, and popular delegations.

The day will also be marked by major concerts featuring prominent Jordanian artists, beginning at 8:30 PM. These performances will take place at various venues across the country, including the Roman Theatre in Amman with Omar Al-Abdallat, King Abdullah II Gardens in Irbid featuring Bashar Al-Sarhan and Al-Lawzi Brothers, Royal Urban Village Theatre in Zarqa with Hamdi Al-Manasir, Prince Faisal Youth Complex in Karak featuring Saad Abu Tayeh, and Great Arab Revolt Square in Aqaba with Diana Karazon.

To ensure widespread community participation, the festivities and performances will be broadcast on large screens set up in several historic and cultural landmarks. These include Salt Secondary School in Salt, Jerash Cultural Center in Jerash, respective Visitor Centers in Ajloun and Madaba, the late Attallah Al-Shubeil Garden in Mafraq, Tafileh Reconstruction Corporation in Tafileh, and the Directorate of Culture in Ma'an.

The ministry noted that these celebrations aim to bolster feelings of national belonging and pride, with wide participation expected from both the public and private sectors.
