Amman: Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zeina Toukan met with UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Secretary of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Rania Al-Mashat, to discuss expanding cooperation in support of Jordan's sustainable development priorities.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting reviewed cooperation between Jordan and ESCWA, including ongoing technical assistance projects in the areas of social development, statistics and data, digital transformation, and artificial intelligence.
Toukan highlighted ESCWA's role in supporting member states through technical assistance and capacity-building programs, which contribute to accelerating economic and social development and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She expressed appreciation for the strong partnership between Jordan and the commission.
The discussions also focused on identifying priorities for future cooperation in alignment with Jordan's Economic Modernisation Vision, aimed at promoting sustainable economic development.
