Senate Finance Committee Briefed on Government Measures Amid Current Regional Situation

Amman: The Senate's Finance and Economic Committee on Monday reviewed government decisions taken in light of challenges posed by the current situation in the region and their economic impact, and took note of updated plans to ensure sustainable supply chains.

According to Jordan News Agency, during a session chaired by Senator Rajai Muasher, the economic team, including the ministers of transport, industry, trade and supply, energy, finance, and tourism, gave an overview of key government measures targeting sectors affected by the regional circumstances and alternative plans to address these.

The ministers stated that the Jordanian economy is resilient and capable of withstanding crises. They outlined measures to mitigate the impact on economic sectors and mentioned that the package of decisions was adopted to protect citizens and ensure a smooth flow of goods through sustainable supply chains and energy security. They also highlighted a positive partnership with the private sector and regulatory measures in place for the local market.

The senators expressed their satisfaction with government measures to protect citizens and ensure the sustainability of supply chains. They welcomed the government's prompt response and contingency plans.
