Irbid Chamber and GIZ Collaborate on Textile Waste Management Workshop

Amman: Irbid Chamber of Industry (ICI), alongside the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), organized a specialized training workshop titled "Available Solutions for Textile Waste Management and Recycling Options in Line With Best Practices and Global Trends." The workshop aimed at equipping leather and garment industry representatives with knowledge on sustainable waste management.

According to Jordan News Agency, the event featured Mareike Luedtke, Head of Component at GIZ's Green Action in Enterprises (GAIN) project. ICI President Hani Abu Hassan emphasized the workshop's role in promoting sustainability and cleaner production practices in the industrial sector. He highlighted the importance of converting industrial waste into economic opportunities to enhance the competitiveness of Jordanian products both locally and globally.

ICI Director General Nidal Sadr noted that the workshop is part of a series of training programs conducted by the chamber with international partners. These initiatives are designed to help the industrial sector implement best practices in resource efficiency and waste reduction. He affirmed the chamber's commitment to providing ongoing technical and training support to factories based on their specific needs.

The workshop sessions included a presentation addressing the key challenges of textile waste management, practical solutions for recycling, and successful international models and experiences in the field.
