Amman: Experts affirmed that Jordan has established the concept of a state that fosters collective awareness, shaping the internal front as a shield against regional turbulence, where the national fabric during crises emerges as a constant standard for resilience and a safeguard for protecting national identity against fragmentation and penetration.
According to Jordan News Agency, national unity is not merely a slogan but a fundamental human and national value upon which the stability and strength of states are built. During times of war and crises, the importance of social cohesion and social capital increases as a strategic asset for the state, as a cohesive society is more capable of absorbing shocks, more resistant to rumors, and more closely aligned with its leadership and institutions.
Retired Brigadier General Ayman Al-Rousan, a military and defense affairs expert, emphasized that the Jordanian internal front remains the first line of defense against regional upheavals. He underlined that the internal front is crucial for maintaining the nation's security and stability during crises, highlighting that Jordan's strength lies in the cohesion of its internal front and the unity of its people amidst escalating regional tensions.
Al-Rousan elaborated on how Jordan's political and national experience has fostered an advanced state concept that promotes collective awareness, acting as an existential shield against regional crises. This concept was evident in the ability of the national fabric to remain cohesive during crises, serving as a standard for resilience and a guarantee for protecting national identity against fragmentation.
He also underscored the significance of the national narrative advocated by HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, which aims to entrench citizenship values and build collective awareness, enhancing societal trust in the state and its ability to maintain cohesion amid challenges.
Furthermore, Al-Rousan noted that under His Majesty King Abdullah II's leadership, Jordan continues to adopt a balanced diplomatic policy focused on protecting national interests, avoiding involvement in external conflicts, and ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
Retired Colonel and sociology professor Amer Al-Awartani highlighted that protection extends beyond security to building solid social capital based on trust between the state and society. In the digital age, collective awareness and value-based cohesion are vital defenses against psychological penetration and discord, transforming challenges into opportunities for national unity.
Al-Awartani stated that state strength is equally determined by its ability to protect its internal fabric and the importance of a cohesive society that is resistant to rumors and aligned with its institutions. He emphasized active citizenship as a crucial component of protection, advocating for societal cognitive immunity through enhanced media and digital literacy.
Cybersecurity expert Imran Salem added that protecting the internal front now includes a digital dimension, where cybersecurity and information protection are integral to national security. He stressed the state's role in developing cybersecurity strategies and societal awareness as vital in combating misinformation, with public engagement being the first line of defense against cyber threats.
