Irbid: Yarmouk University (YU) President, Dr. Malek Alsharairi, and the Qatari Cultural Attach©, Hamad bin Abdullah Sharif, engaged in discussions regarding the enhancement of cultural and academic cooperation between the two entities. The meeting, held at YU's headquarters, focused on strategies to strengthen their collaborative efforts.
According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Alsharairi emphasized Yarmouk University's commitment to creating an ideal campus environment grounded in education, leadership, innovation, and scientific research. This initiative aims to attract local, Arab, and international students to the university. He also outlined the university's vision to expand its academic network, facilitating student and researcher exchanges while building on its scientific and research accomplishments.
Alsharairi assured that the university prioritizes the well-being of its international students and is dedicated to addressing any challenges they may face. He pledged support for international students within the framework of university regulations, ensuring they receive the necessary knowledge, skills, and expertise to become ambassadors for YU in their home countries.
In response, Hamad bin Abdullah Sharif highlighted the strong bilateral ties between Yarmouk University and Qatar, praising the university's academic reputation. He noted the achievements of Qatari graduates from YU, who have excelled in various fields. Sharif reiterated the Cultural Attach©'s commitment to maintaining strong cooperation with YU.
Currently, Yarmouk University hosts 89 Qatari students enrolled in a range of academic programs and degree levels.
