Water Minister and French Ambassador Explore Joint Water Initiatives

Amman: Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Saud met with French Ambassador Franck Gellet to discuss joint cooperation in the water sector and strategies for enhancement.

According to Jordan News Agency, Abu Saud outlined the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to secure and develop new water sources and highlighted planned projects, particularly those supported by French investments. He emphasized the importance of Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) projects and mentioned the Ministry’s drive to implement sustainable water projects, such as the National Water Carrier Project, aimed at increasing water availability.

Abu Saud also noted the government’s commitment to accelerating the National Water Carrier Project and boosting private sector involvement in managing water and wastewater facilities. He expressed appreciation for the robust cooperation with France.

Gellet expressed satisfaction with the partnership, emphasizing its positive impact on both countries and the intention to continue fostering this collaboration.
