Egypt and Jordan Align on Palestinian Cause: Egyptian FM

Cairo: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty stated that Egypt and Jordan share identical positions on the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the impact of instability in Gaza or the West Bank on both nations, given their geographical proximity to Palestine.

According to Jordan News Agency, Abdelatty highlighted the “full coordination at the leadership level” between President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and His Majesty King Abdullah II, as well as between their respective foreign ministries. He expressed that Egypt and Jordan act as mutual spokespersons, reinforcing the strength of their relations and ongoing coordination.

The minister firmly rejected any plans for forced displacement, declaring it a “red line” unacceptable to both countries. He noted the effective Egyptian-Jordanian collaboration in altering the Western narrative regarding events in Gaza and the West Bank, stressing the equal seriousness of situations in both regions.

Abdelatty also mentioned joint efforts by Egypt and Jordan to garner political and humanitarian support for the Palestinian cause. He confirmed continuous collaboration with international partners to organize a relief conference focused on early recovery and reconstruction in Gaza, involving Arab nations and the global community. Efforts are underway to mobilize political and financial resources for a comprehensive reconstruction plan aimed at ensuring a dignified life for Palestinians.
