Jordan Condemns Israel’s Restrictions on Humanitarian Aid to Gaza

Amman: Jordan has strongly criticized Israel’s continued restrictions on humanitarian aid to Gaza, emphasizing the dire consequences for the population in the region. The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs has highlighted the escalating food crisis in Gaza, which has reached critical levels.

According to Jordan News Agency, the UN Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) recently upgraded the food crisis in Gaza to Phase 5, which signifies famine. This development underscores the severe humanitarian challenges confronting Gaza’s residents due to these restrictions.

Ambassador Sufian Al-Qudah, the official spokesperson for the Ministry, labeled the situation as a dangerous indicator of the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He attributed this to what he described as systematic and inhumane policies by the Israeli government, accusing them of using starvation as a tool against Palestinians.

Ambassador Al-Qudah has called for urgent intervention from the international community. He urged global actors to pressure Israel to cease its actions in Gaza, address the starvation and humanitarian crisis, and ensure consistent and long-term access to aid for the affected population.
