Amman: The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) recently recognized the Energy Engineers Club at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) for its outstanding initiatives and leadership in promoting sustainable energy both locally and internationally.
According to Jordan News Agency, the recognition came as a result of a series of activities designed to raise awareness and foster innovation within the energy sector among students and the academic community. The AEE awarded Lara Mhanna, the club’s president, the prestigious FAEE Scholarship 2025. This award acknowledges her leadership and active contributions and includes a cash prize along with an invitation to attend the AEE World Conference in Atlanta, Georgia, USA, from September 17-19. The conference will feature participation from leading experts and policymakers within the global energy sector.
PSUT President Wijdan Abu Elhaija lauded this achievement as a testament to the students’ dedication and their increasing role in advancing sustainable solutions and technical innovations in energy. She voiced her pride in the efforts of student clubs and the Office of Student Clubs and Cultural Activities at the Deanship of Student Affairs.
Club advisor Ayman Fazaa highlighted that the club, established in 2013 and affiliated with AEE, has been proactive in organizing events and field visits related to energy systems, with a particular focus on renewable energy such as solar and wind. He mentioned that the club members have participated in numerous local and international conferences and have earned multiple global awards for initiatives aimed at raising public awareness of energy challenges in Jordan and proposing alternative clean energy and efficiency solutions.
