Aviation Commission and Future Skills Fund Collaborate to Enhance Youth Training in Aircraft Maintenance

Amman: The Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) and the Future Skills Fund have formalized a memorandum of understanding to bolster vocational and technical training opportunities in aircraft maintenance for young people throughout Jordan.

According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement was signed by Captain Haitham Misto, Chairman of the CARC, and Zaid Arida, Executive Director of the Fund, establishing a program framework and eligibility criteria that meet the objectives of both organizations. The initiative aims to provide financial assistance to students enrolling in aircraft maintenance engineering programs, facilitating their acquisition of a Jordanian aircraft maintenance license. Training will be conducted in collaboration with accredited maintenance academies and aviation companies within the country.

The program introduces an income-based repayment model, allowing students to repay a portion of their future salaries after entering the workforce, without incurring interest or additional fees, until the complete amount of support is reimbursed.

Misto highlighted the significance of this partnership in furthering CARC’s mission to enhance technical training in aircraft maintenance, ensuring alignment with both domestic and international aviation sector demands. He also commended the involvement of the private sector and the Fund in empowering youth and fostering long-term career growth.

Arida reiterated the Fund’s dedication to providing youth with access to quality vocational education in partnership with specialized aviation institutions. He pointed out that the program is financially supported by the German government through the German Development Bank (KfW).
