Slovenia Expresses Concern Over Israel’s Decision to Block Aid to Gaza

Ljubljana: The Slovenian Foreign Ministry has expressed concern over Israel’s decision to block humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza, warning that such actions could lead to a catastrophic humanitarian crisis.

According to Jordan News Agency, the Ministry emphasised that the Israeli decision violates international law, particularly international humanitarian and human rights law. In a statement issued Tuesday, the Slovenian Foreign Ministry called for safe and unhindered access for humanitarian organisations to the Gaza residents, who urgently need assistance.

The Ministry reiterated Slovenia’s support for all diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving a permanent ceasefire, which would facilitate the release of hostages and initiate the reconstruction of Gaza. The Ministry urged upholding the ceasefire agreement and adhering to the three agreed-upon stages, which would help alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and lead to the release of hostages.

Slovenia called on all parties to respect international law, act responsibly to reduce civilian suffering and work towards a sustainable political solution.
