Amman: The Ministry of Social Development has released its monthly performance indicators for February, documenting substantial caseload management across its social safety net programs.
According to Jordan News Agency, frontline services processed 9,240 socioeconomic assessment applications for health insurance qualification targeting vulnerable households, alongside 175 medical hardship exemption requests and 50 inheritance rights mediation cases.
The child protection ecosystem saw 50 new residential care placements and 44 deinstitutionalization cases, with 10 children successfully placed in family-based alternative care arrangements under the ministry’s fostering framework. Juvenile justice rehabilitation centers served 213 youth, with 74 beneficiaries enrolled in vocational qualification pathways.
The child labor intervention unit provided psychosocial support and case management services to 51 children working in hazardous conditions, while legal aid mechanisms assisted nine juveniles in conflict with the law. The NGO Directorate reported a cumulative registry of 6,118 active civil society organizations, with seven new registrations processed during February.
Administrative oversight included 71 bylaw amendment applications, 28 association dissolutions, and the conclusion of 12 interim governance mandates, while 10 liquidation committees completed their dissolution protocols. The National Aid Fund disbursed emergency assistance to 1,795 households while maintaining regular cash transfers to 47,611 beneficiary families.
The Fund’s economic empowerment initiative enrolled 172 households in skills development programs, maintaining a 91 percent responsiveness rate to beneficiary inquiries. Anti-begging enforcement operations included 412 targeted interventions resulting in the apprehension of 740 individuals engaged in street solicitation, as part of the ministry’s broader social rehabilitation strategy.
