Cybercrime Unit Cautions Against Content on Banned Associations

Amman: The Cybercrime Unit has issued a warning to social media users regarding the dissemination of content related to banned or unlicensed associations, specifically highlighting the so-called Muslim Brotherhood, which has been dissolved by conclusive judicial rulings and decisions.

According to Jordan News Agency, the unit emphasized in a statement released on Wednesday that there will be strict enforcement of the law, with legal action to be taken against those who violate the regulations. This enforcement is grounded in the provisions of the Cybercrime Law and the Jordanian Penal Code.

The unit urged social media users to comply fully with the laws and to avoid actions such as publishing, promoting, republishing, sharing, or commenting on prohibited content. Violators will face legal consequences under the terms of the Cybercrime Law and the Jordanian Penal Code.

APN Supports Agricultural and Water Projects in Northern Jordan Valley

Amman: Arab Group for the Protection of Nature (APN) has completed a project to support farmers in the Northern Jordan Valley District by installing plastic sheets in irrigation ponds at their respective farms.

According to Jordan News Agency, the project, which benefited 17 farmers, is part of the APN’s Economic Empowerment and Food and Water Security Enhancement Program, implemented with support from the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO). In remarks to “Petra” Wednesday, the project supervisor, Lamia Abu Sahyoun, said the initiative aims to support target farmers in harvesting water and reducing losses to serve their agricultural units, which would contribute to increased production and achieve food security.

Abu Sahyoun noted the project distributed over 16,000 fruit trees over an area of 320 dunams last February, benefiting 76 farmers in the region. Additionally, she announced the implementation of irrigation networks for an area of 40 dunams, benefiting 8 farmers.

Underlining the importance of the projects under the follow-up of the public agricultural workers, she said this effort is part of the Ministry of Agriculture’s vision to advance the Kingdom’s agricultural sector in line with national economic and social development goals.

Jordan Supports Awqaf Employees in Jerusalem with New Amendments

Amman: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Khalayleh has announced that the recent Cabinet decision to amend assessment instructions for public sector jobs will be extended to include employees of Jordan-run departments of Awqaf and the Chief Justice in Jerusalem.

According to Jordan News Agency, Khalayleh emphasized Jordan’s commitment to supporting these ministry-affiliated employees in Jerusalem in recognition of their dedication and mission. The minister highlighted this move as a reflection of Jordan’s leadership, under His Majesty King Abdullah II, in safeguarding and preserving Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as supporting the political initiatives undertaken by Jordanian diplomacy.

Khalayleh explained that the amendments involve measures to evaluate and determine salaries for employees of the Directorate of Al-Aqsa Mosque and Jerusalem Affairs, based on the basic salary scale. Additionally, these employees will receive a “Royal Steadfastness Allowance” of 400%. Furthermore, an allowance will be provided to workers of the Department of the Chief Justice in Jerusalem.

The ministry currently employs over 750 individuals at Al-Aqsa Mosque, with at least half of these appointments made during King Abdullah II’s reign.

Lower House Speaker Asserts Jordan’s Commitment to Law and Order

Amman: Lower House Speaker Ahmad Safadi emphasized on Wednesday that Jordan is a state of institutions where the law holds supreme authority, asserting that no entity is beyond the reach of the state’s power. He highlighted the unity of the Jordanian people in standing against any actions that threaten the nation’s security.

According to Jordan News Agency, Safadi expressed the Lower House’s support for measures announced by the Minister of Interior aimed at safeguarding the Kingdom’s security and stability. These measures are in response to “suspicious attempts directed from abroad” that seek to compromise Jordan’s security and serve questionable agendas.

Safadi reaffirmed that Jordan’s strength and steadfastness will remain unshaken despite any challenges. He declared that such challenges will only bolster the nation’s resolve and determination to pursue national development. This pursuit is driven by the efforts of Jordanians and their commitment to maintaining a united internal front, resilient against any malicious attempts to disrupt it.

UJ and Columbia University Strengthen Academic Cooperation in Nursing

Amman: University of Jordan (UJ)’s Vice President for Academic Faculties, Dr. Ashraf Abu Karaki, on Wednesday discussed ways to strengthen academic cooperation with a delegation from the School of Nursing at U.S. Columbia University.

According to Jordan News Agency, the visiting delegation is headed by Dr. Jennifer Dohrn, Professor of Nursing and Assistant Dean of Global Initiatives. During the meeting, the two sides discussed outcomes of the joint cooperation and ways to develop training opportunities for UJ nursing students.

Discussions also went over opportunities for research cooperation and networking of the two universities’ researchers and implementing faculty exchanges, and joint research, according to a UJ statement. Abu Karaki praised Columbia University’s welcome to expand the base of joint cooperation in scientific research field, given its importance in enhancing the UJ’s academic reputation in the nursing area.

The UJ’s College of Nursing annually receives graduate students from Columbia University for the Master’s and Ph.D. levels to receive training in various wards at the University of Jordan Hospital.
