Zbooni, a provider of digital solutions Sunday signed an agreement with the Education for Employment (EFE) Jordan to provide training opportunities for young entrepreneurs.
The agreement, signed by Zbooni’s General Manager, Ahmad Fakhreddin, and CEO of the EFE, Ghadeer Khuffash, is part of Zbooni’s commitment to supporting the local community and empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) by providing them with the necessary tools and skills to ensure their continuity and growth.
Under the agreement, the EFE will connect the beneficiaries of its educational and employment programs to Zbooni’s platform and its digital services. On its part, Zbooni will hold introductory workshops on its services and provide beneficiaries with the digital tools and knowledge to help them start businesses and grow their customer base.
Khuffash said Education for Employment-Jordan plays a leading role in developing skills among youth entering the job market. She stressed the importance of the agreement with Zbooni in enhancing entrepreneurial abilities among youth, ultimately contributing to sustainable development and economic growth in the country.
For his part, Fakhreddin pointed out that this collaboration will introduce thousands of entrepreneurs in Jordan to C-commerce solutions, enabling them to boost sales and expand reach.
“C-commerce enables businesses to sell more through popular chat apps, like WhatsApp and Telegram. Businesses can convert conversations into transactions through sharing of real-time shopping baskets and payment links. With more than 7 million social media users in Jordan, Zbooni provides an opportunity for businesses across the country to capture orders and accept payments which has a positive reflection on sales,” Fakhreddin added.
He highlighted that the average C-commerce cart is 2.7 times bigger than traditional E-commerce and conversion rates are 20 times higher than E-commerce. Given that about half of Jordan’s GDP comes from SMEs, such digital tools that support entrepreneurs can help boost the economy, he indicated.
Education for Employment – Jordan is a locally registered non-profit organization established in 2006 that leads a national initiative to create economic opportunities for unemployed youth across the Kingdom.
Its approach begins with an extensive labor market analysis that focuses on building partnerships with private sector companies throughout Jordan – from global multinationals to local SMEs – to identify hiring needs and the skills required to perform their jobs. Next, they design targeted and sector-specific training programs for youth that result in direct employment or micro-entrepreneurship opportunities.
