Amman: Leaders International for Economic Development has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) to implement a series of technical training courses across the governorates of Amman, Irbid, Zarqa, and Mafraq.
According to Jordan News Agency, the partnership is part of the Skills4Work project, funded by the European Regional Development and Protection Program (RDPP) for Jordan and Lebanon. The RDPP is a collaborative European initiative supported by Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, the European Union, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Switzerland.
VTC Director General Ahmad Gharaibeh stated that the agreement aligns with the Corporation’s efforts to expand partnerships with civil society organizations and the private sector to develop training programs tailored to labor market demands. These programs are designed to benefit young job seekers and marginalized groups in various regions.
Gharaibeh described the partnership with Leaders International as a strategic step to empower youth economically and socially by offering vocational and technical training, capacity building, and sustainable employment opportunities. He reiterated the VTC’s commitment to enhancing the capabilities of its training institutes and their role in local development.
The Skills4Work project targets a diverse group of young people, primarily Jordanians (64 percent) and Syrians (34 percent), focusing on individuals under the age of 35 with a significant representation of women.
Under the agreement, Leaders International will support vocational training centers by implementing specialized programs in capacity building, knowledge exchange, and improved networking with the private sector, aiming to strengthen institutional performance and deepen integration with the local labor market.
Hamza Shamaileh, General Manager of Leaders International in Jordan, stated that the foundation is committed to transforming vocational centers into platforms for change, equipping youth with the tools needed to succeed in a competitive labor market.
