Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Heads Saudi Delegation to Arab-Japan Political Dialogue Ministerial Meeting

Deputizing for Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Eng. Waleed El-Khereiji headed the Kingdom's delegation to the third session of the Ministerial Meeting of the Arab-Japan Political Dialogue, held on September 5 at the Arab League headquarters in Cairo.

The Arab side was headed by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the Japanese side was headed by Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi.

El-Khereiji highlighted the importance of continuing the political dialogue that aims to deepen and strengthen the distinguished Arab-Japanese relations and help exchange views on issues of common interest.

He stressed the importance of making the Middle East a safe and stable region that gives hope for a better future for everyone, adding that there is agreement between Arabs and the Japanese, about the importance of nurturing peace, encouraging negotiations and solutions, and strengthening the security and pace of development.

"It is of great importance to combine efforts to guarantee the internationally recognized rights of the Palestinian people and bring about peace through negotiations based on the Arab Peace Initiative and the principles of international law," El-Khereiji said at the meeting.

He expressed the Kingdom's hope for more advanced Arab-Japanese cooperation in various fields.

The Kingdom's delegation included the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Arab League Ambassador Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Matar.
