UNRWA: Gaza Facing Humanitarian Catastrophe as Supplies Dwindle

Gaza: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has announced that Gaza’s humanitarian supply stockpiles are rapidly depleting, with the situation worsening by the day.

According to Jordan News Agency, in a statement issued on Sunday, UNRWA said, “It has been over a month since Israel blocked the entry of aid and commercial supplies into Gaza,” adding that its teams continue to provide assistance with the remaining supplies. The agency called for an end to the Israeli blockade and for humanitarian aid to be allowed back into Gaza.

In the same context, the World Food Program (WFP) announced the closure of all 25 bakeries it supports in Gaza due to a shortage of fuel and flour as a result of the ongoing Israeli siege. In a post on X, the program stated, “Current food supplies at its hot meal kitchen in Gaza can last for less than two weeks,” noting that a single hot meal provides 25% or less of a person’s daily nutritional needs.
