Amman: President of the University of Jordan, Nathir Obeidat, met with a French delegation to discuss strengthening academic and research collaboration in the fields of engineering, environmental sciences, and water management.
According to Jordan News Agency, the visiting delegation included Olivier Boiron, Director of International Relations at Ecole Centrale de Marseille; Nassim Ait Mehdi, a researcher at the French National Institute for Agriculture, Food and Environment (INRAE); and Billy Troy, Scientific and Academic Cooperation Attach© at the French Embassy in Jordan.
Boiron expressed his institution’s interest in expanding cooperation with the University of Jordan, particularly through the development of joint academic programs in engineering and enhanced student exchange. The two sides agreed to proceed with drafting a memorandum of understanding and a student exchange agreement.
Ait Mehdi discussed prospects for joint research between the University of Jordan and INRAE, especially in water management. He highlighted opportunities for collaboration with the university’s Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Engineering, and its Water, Energy and Environment Center.
